We got the Pod Pro Cover from 8 Eight Sleep about a month ago, and I have to say it elevated my sleep to another level.
What is it?
The Pod Pro Cover goes on top of your existing mattress, and it connects to a Pod. It monitors your temperature, movement, HRV, and respiratory rate and calculates the quality of your sleep. It regulates the temperature during sleep and thus helps optimize and improve your sleep and recovery.
The product comes with an Eight Sleep app that you install on your phone to set your sleep setting, see your sleep data, and change your settings.
Main things I like about it:
1. Custom setting: When setting up your 8 Eight Sleep app, you set up what side of the bed you sleep on and create custom sleep settings for each person. This is great as your sleeping partner may have a completely different sleeping preference than you do.
2. Cooling and warming: I like to set my mattress on cold when I am going to bed as it cools my muscles/ body down, and I feel it is easier to fall asleep. In the morning, I set it up, so it warms me up before I wake up. This helps me wake up naturally, and my muscles get warmer in the morning, so it doesn't take as much time and effort to walk things off.
3. I love the tapping alarm feature. I feel that alarms always give me a heart attack in the morning. No matter how much effort I put into choosing the right alarm tone/ song, it gets old and annoying after a while. I love the 8 Eight Sleep because it wakes me up with gentle tapping. You have to give it a try to experience it fully!
4. Meditation: The 8 Eight Sleep app also comes with meditation. I have been using different ones for when I go to sleep and when I wake up every morning. I find them to be very calming and relaxing.
